Winner and SPLAT!

Here we are - it's tuesday, after a holiday should be a monday yet feels like a friday..... I believe I have been sucked into a time acknowledgement paradox!

The winds have definatly picked up- I think they said that it was going to be in the low 30's tonight! Good thing the wood has been piled up close to the door!
I have been working on backgrounds for a few of the paintings I am working on- as you well know, layers upon layers are needed to get the proper effect.  (I'm not sure I like this new blogger layout- it doesn't let you ley the photos up next to each other- wastes a lot of room! guess I will get used to it) anyway. I am 6 layers
into the one on the right - and the one below - only one.

The toughest part of layering up backgrounds, I think, is that some times I just  fall in love with the background and revert back to the "blank canvas" stage- deciding what to put on top of it- if anything at all.

It is Tuesday, the 13th and I promised to announce the winner of the 100th post give away today.
Congratulations to Jennifer Macneill-Traylor of Night-mare Designs! what a clever name- don't you think! She incorporates her love for horses and Halloween, rolls it all together with fabulous creations! Check out her wonderful talents over at her studio site Gypsy Mare.
A devishly goblin of jester fame- all for her very own!

So- I literally tripped over this yesterday. A little morbid maybe- but not if you have ever read Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book. There are a series of books, of which, I believe this next photo belongs to.
I was sad for a moment- and then laughed- because it was as if suddenly I figured out where Brian Froud and terry Jones received their inspiration.
SPLAT!
it's okay. you can laugh.

Enjoy each other.
Live well.
